TPS - TEXTILE PRINTING & SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE

Over the course of generations, the textile industry has garnered a reputation as one of the world's major polluters. However, the sector is now responding to growing calls for change with a renewed focus on sustainability. As environmental and social awareness rises, textile markets, business models, and production techniques are undergoing significant transformations. Central to this evolution is print technology, which is exploring new possibilities presented by automation and digitalization.

In September 2022, the Textile Printing & Sustainability Conference was launched to address these changes and chart a path forward. The conference aimed to explore three pivotal areas: the circular economy, bio-based dyes and fibers, and digital technology. Bringing together participants from 15 countries, the event delved into the myriad factors and global trends shaping the textile market, both now and in the foreseeable future. Topics such as customer-made fashion, responsible business practices, quality concerns, and the growing demand for customization and personalization were thoroughly examined.

In the picturesque setting of Benediktbeuern, an extraordinary textile market unfolds, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a vibrant tapestry of creativity and craftsmanship. The Textilmarkt Benediktbeuern is more than just a market; it is a celebration of texture and color, showcasing the rich diversity of textile arts. 

This year, the market is graced by the presence of 150 exhibitors from across Germany and nine other European countries. They bring with them a dazzling array of creations, from bespoke fashion and eclectic hats to textile jewelry, toys, bags, carpets, and home textiles. Among the exhibitors, 26 are making their debut, adding fresh perspectives and innovative designs to the event.

The event goes beyond mere exhibition, offering a plethora of workshops and demonstrations. Christiane Englsberger, renowned for her delicate Swiss straw weaving technique, will be demonstrating her artistry. Her work, celebrated for its intricate craftsmanship, has earned her a special honor from the Danner Foundation this year. Attendees of all ages are encouraged to engage in hands-on activities such as screen printing, button-making, silk marbling, felting, and crafting with paper cords.

In a gesture of solidarity, the Textilmarkt Benediktbeuern continues its support for the "Wool for Ukraine" project. Visitors have the opportunity to purchase items from this initiative and donate 100% wool materials and crafting supplies, which will be distributed to refugee families. This commitment to social responsibility highlights the market’s dedication to not only celebrating textile arts but also contributing to meaningful causes.

Local food vendors and the Klosterbräustüberl Benediktbeuern will ensure that visitors are well-fed, providing a range of delectable options to complement the day's experiences. NADEL UND FADEN

The "Nadel und Faden" fair in Osnabrück is a highly anticipated annual event, held every September, that caters to textile professionals, artisans, textile artists, design enthusiasts, and lovers of handmade creations. Over the course of three days, the OsnabrückHalle is transformed into a vibrant venue that combines a commercial showcase with an exhibition of textile art, creating a visually captivating experience that inspires creativity among its visitors.

Organized by the Osnabrück Event and Congress GmbH, this fair attracts a wide array of attendees each year, who come to explore a diverse range of offerings. These include needles, threads, and fabrics, as well as modern sewing machines and specialized tools. The fair is particularly noted for its special exhibitions that feature innovative and often avant-garde textile works, providing a platform for showcasing cutting-edge designs and techniques.
