Colorless transparent liquid. Has volatility. Flammable. It has a fruity aroma. Water can alleviate its decomposition and form an acidic reaction. Can be miscible with chloroform, ethanol, acetone, and ether. Its vapor forms an explosive mixture with air, which can cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open flames and high heat energy. It can react strongly with oxidants.
