Colorless monoclinic or white crystalline powder. Has strong oxidizing and corrosive properties. Completely dry ammonium persulfate is not easily decomposed, while moist ammonium persulfate gradually decomposes, releasing oxygen and ozone. Easy to dissolve in water, its aqueous solution will also decompose at room temperature. Mixing with reducing agents, organic compounds, flammable materials, or metal powders can form explosive mixtures. Usage: Used as an initiator for tetrafluoroethylene polymerization. It is also an initiator for polymerization or copolymerization of certain water-soluble monomers such as acrylic acid and its esters, acrylamide, vinyl acetate, etc. It can also be used as a bleaching agent, deodorizer, oxidant, protein reagent, and analytical reagent for steel. It is also a raw material for manufacturing persulfate and hydrogen peroxide.
