Pig iron is in three types as below: A) Foundry grade. B) SG grade. C) Basic grade / steel grade. Contains as below: 1- Carbon 3.8 to 4.20 percent in each grade. 2- Silicon 2 to 2.5, 1 to 2.10, and max 1.25 percent respectively. 3- Manganese 0.5 to 0.9, max 0.3, 0.4 to 0.8 respectively. 4- Sulphur max 0.06, max 0.03, max 0.08 respectively. 5- Phosphorus max 0.12, max 0.07, and max 0.12 respectively.
