Frequently Asked Questions

How “fresh” are the ocean freight rates in the calculator?

We update the cargo shipping rates every month, but you should check with the rate provider in case of unexpected surcharges. Cargo container shipping can be unpredictable due to sanctions, port strikes, and congestion.

I don’t want to book the shipment right now but need more details about the ocean freight shipping costs that came up in the search results. What should I do?

You don’t have to book right away, but click on the Book now button to contact the international sea freight rate provider for more details. You can negotiate a discount on the cargo shipping costs or discuss special shipping requirements.

Does Globy provide container shipping as well?

Globy only aggregates cargo shipping rates. The company does not offer logistics services and does not transport the cargo. The role of our international freight shipping calculator is to connect you with the information and providers you need to arrange shipments directly.

What if I couldn’t find the port I need among the ones available in the container shipping cost calculator?

Our freight cost calculator has nearly every port on the map, but if this happens, please contact us at [email protected] or use the support window on the website to alert us about this problem.

Can I get freight rates for less-than-container load (LCL) shipments?

Currently, our freight shipping calculator is designed for full container load (FCL) shipments only. We do not provide rates for less-than-container load (LCL) shipments at this time.

Are there any hidden fees not shown in the freight rate calculator?

Our freight costs calculator displays the base rates provided by logistics partners, but there may be additional charges such as customs fees, terminal handling charges, or surcharges for specific routes. We recommend contacting the rate provider for a full breakdown.

What if my cargo has special requirements, like refrigeration or oversized dimensions?

If your shipment has unique needs, contact the logistics provider via the “Book now” button to discuss customized freight shipping quote. Many of our partners offer specialized services for perishable goods, heavy machinery, and more.

Is your platform only for international ocean freight, or does it include air freight options as well?

Currently, our platform focuses on international sea freight shipping rates. However, we plan to expand our offerings to include air freight and other shipping options in the future.

Can I track my shipment through your platform?

Since Globy does not handle the shipping process directly and only provides international container shipping costs, tracking services are provided by the logistics partner you select. Contact them for tracking details once your shipment is booked.
