Completed The MWISA Annual Conference & Trade Show is a cornerstone event for professionals involved in arboriculture and urban forestry, bringing together experts from Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma to advance the practice of tree care and urban forestry. Founded in 1946, the Midwestern Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is the fourth chapter of the world’s largest and most influential arboricultural organization. Today, the chapter consists of nearly 850 dedicated professionals committed to elevating the standards of arboriculture, promoting sustainable urban forestry, and enhancing the care of trees in these four states.
The International Society of Arboriculture, with its 37 chapters around the globe, serves a community of nearly 22,000 arborists, urban foresters, nursery professionals, and other individuals committed to advancing the science and practice of tree care. In addition to its chapters, ISA also includes 16 associate organizations in areas without chapters, as well as four professional affiliates, all of which provide invaluable resources and networks to arboriculture professionals worldwide. Over 38,000 individuals have achieved ISA Certification or Qualification, a testament to the organization’s leadership in setting professional standards for the industry.
At the heart of MWISA’s mission is the professional development of its members, and the Annual Conference & Trade Show is a key vehicle for achieving this goal. The event serves as a gathering place for arborists, urban foresters, and industry professionals to share knowledge, explore new technologies, and discuss emerging trends and challenges in tree care. Through a variety of seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities, attendees gain access to the latest advancements in the art, science, technology, and ethics of arboriculture. It’s a platform where professionals can continue to grow in their field, deepen their expertise, and exchange ideas with peers from across the region.
Beyond education, the MWISA Annual Conference & Trade Show is a vital space for exhibitors to present new products, tools, and technologies that support the work of arborists and urban foresters. Whether showcasing cutting-edge tree care equipment or innovative software solutions, the trade show provides valuable opportunities for professionals to explore new resources that can enhance their daily practices and improve the health and sustainability of the urban canopy.
As a non-profit organization, MWISA is dedicated to serving its members by championing trees and promoting the highest standards of professional tree care. The association’s work extends beyond the conference, offering various projects and programs throughout the year that focus on the continual development of its members. Through these efforts, MWISA helps to shape the future of arboriculture and urban forestry, ensuring that trees are cared for in ways that benefit both the environment and the communities they serve.
The MWISA Annual Conference & Trade Show is more than just an event—it’s a vital part of the Midwestern Chapter’s ongoing commitment to supporting its members and advancing the practice of arboriculture. Whether through educational sessions, networking, or hands-on demonstrations, the conference plays a crucial role in fostering professional growth and promoting the ethical, scientific, and technological aspects of tree care. For those involved in arboriculture and urban forestry, the MWISA conference is an essential opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to the future of the industry.
