Polished flax twines, HS code 05247. Produced from all kinds of flax fiber: flax tow, machine tow, and intermediate fibers between machine tow and flax tow. The twines can be polished using borax, starch, and paraffin wax, or left unpolished. Available from NM 0.24 to NM 60, doubling 2-6 ply. Maximum moisture content: 10%. Tolerance for breaking strength: 10-15%, and for density: 7-15%. The twines can be twisted with full bleaching, half bleaching, or no bleaching. They can also be degummed only.
