Induction Furnaces are used mainly in the recycle of metals. Iron scrap from industrial places and workshops like metal chip from machining processes, scrap from sheet metal working blanking and laser cutting etc. Aluminuim cans of beverages and foil plates and trays are huge waste that may be recycled in these furnaces to obtain Aluminuim ingots and other casted products. Gold and other metals can be casted using the induction furnace. The induction furnace is operated with the use of IGBT units to develop high current even it is a reactive power, because the heating is obtained by induction of magnetic field formed inducing current in the conductors that also require considerable cooling system.
