Q345B is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel from China's GB/T 1591 standard, equivalent to European S355JR or American ASTM A572 Gr50. It has a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa and tensile strength ranging from 470 to 630 MPa. This steel offers good weldability and impact toughness, with at least 34J impact energy at minus 20 degrees Celsius. Q345B is widely used in construction projects like buildings and bridges, as well as in heavy machinery, vehicle manufacturing, pressure vessels, and shipbuilding. Its balanced strength and cost-effectiveness make it popular for load-bearing structures. Compared to Q235, it provides higher strength while maintaining formability.
