Depending on the carbon content, carbon steel balls can be divided into low carbon steel balls (such as 1010/1015), medium carbon steel balls (such as 1045), and high carbon steel balls (such as 1085), with varying hardness, wear resistance, and applications. Main classification and characteristics: Classified by material: Low-carbon steel ball (C: 0.08%-0.18%): low price, weldable, commonly used in scenarios where hardness requirements are not high, such as counterweights, toys, electronic hardware, etc. Medium carbon steel ball (C: around 0.45%): high hardness (HRC58-65), strong wear resistance, suitable for automotive parts, chemical equipment, etc. High carbon steel ball (C: around 0.85%): With a hardness of up to HRC60-66, it exhibits excellent wear resistance and is used for high-load grinding and transmission components. Classified by heat treatment state: Unheat-treated steel ball (soft ball/iron ball): with a hardness of approximately HRC28-40, it is weldable and suitable for applications requiring subsequent processing. Heat-treated steel ball (hard ball): The hardness is increased to HRC58-66, enhancing wear resistance, but it is not weldable and prone to falling off.
