The ABB P-HC-BRC30000000, widely known as the BRC300 Harmony Bridge Controller, is a high-performance central CPU module designed for ABB Symphony Plus Harmony Rack (HR Series) and Bailey INFI 90 distributed control systems (DCS). Powered by a 32-bit Freescale ColdFire processor running at 160 MHz, the module delivers robust computational performance for process control applications. It supports over 150 ABB function codes, as well as C applications, Batch 90, and user-defined functions, providing flexible programming capabilities for diverse automation requirements. The BRC300 serves a dual role within the DCS architecture: it functions as the primary processing engine executing control logic, PID calculations, and I/O data acquisition, while simultaneously acting as a bridge between field control stations and the upper-layer INFI-NET network. The architecture supports redundant controllers, communications, I/O, and power, enabling hot-standby configurations with millisecond-level failover for maximum system availability.
